Assessment

This generally takes 1 to 1½ hours. l will ask questions including your current concerns. All areas of your previous medical or therapeutic interventions will be discussed, and a full physical assessment will be carried out specific to your needs.

I will let you know the results of the assessment  at the time and will write a summary report if this is requested (see fees section). This will detail your current strengths and needs and suggest activities which will help their support your progress or management of your condition. I will then make recommendations regarding the type and frequency of therapy which will most effectively help you and we will.

Therapy

I am trained and experienced in providing evidence-based therapy. I aim to make the sessions enjoyable and we will work towards realistic and functional goals. To make the most of your therapy sessions is helpful if you can make time to replicate the activities or exercises I may give you during the week.  I am happy to provide some or all therapy sessions in your own home, nursing or care homes or can attend the gym or pool to provide advice in these settings. The frequency of sessions (weekly, every other week, etc.) will be agreed jointly- I will make suggestions based on what will be most effective but this can be adjusted to fit around your lifestyle and commitments.
